OLD CAPTION :

It has been a very long time since anyone has seen this in any form whatsoever. Originally, it was the entry image to the third generation design of the Tree of Life - which was this silly little Sephi shrine which was actually frighteningly extensive. I know exactly why I closed down the site, and why I was hesitant to put it back up...but I think posting the renewed painting here means that after a 2 year hiatus, the ToL's going back up in some stable and substantial form.


Anyway, five years after this starting out as a doodle on grey cardstock (and 80 layers of acrylic and watercolor pencil and ink and metallic foil later...I refused to simply start over) is...this.
Actually, I'm *still* not sure if I like it yet...

PLEASE...if you fav, tell me why. I need to know how to improve, if I need to.

I'm going to add this to my favorites- and here's why:
Sephiroth is my favorite FF villian of all time. I am also impressed with your skills at drawing him- this isn't like some crappy little fan drawing-it looks really amazing. The colors go well together to create an eye-catching effect. Very Profesional looking.

I am impressed with the time and effort put into this... not to mention, I really like the picture. the layout is nice and the colors too, especially the contrasts in yellows to blue/violets. ^_^Hence my fave. The only thing I'd suggest is a bit more shading on the hand there~

Why did I fav this? Because I think it's beautiful! The colors are so pretty and I really like the way you drew Sephy; your style of drawing is more "realistic" as far as "anime style" drawings go (at least if that's the style you use...never mind, I think you know what I mean). The composition is really gorgeous as well; I love the mask at the bottom. Everything flows together so nicely! <3 <3 <3 LOVE!!!!!!!

thank you for letting me know it isn't "crappy." ^_-;
I try to make sure none of my art looks like "fanart" even if it technically is...but rather a piece that can stand alone whether it is of a pre-existing character or not.

I agree about the hand, so thank you for noting that. (It was more shaded previously, but it was getting confusing color-wise when I started putting in all those shades of green...but I think currently it is a little -too- simplified.)
I really wanted to give Seph an aura with colors without looking too...um...rainbow-y, so contrasting colors helped out here. ^_^
